February 27, 2012 not a Holiday

A few years back under the Arroyo presidency, there was this so-called Holiday Economics. Under that policy, if the national holiday falls on Saturday or Sunday, the celebration will be moved to the nearest Friday or Monday to create long weekends to enliven domestic tourism.
But President Noynoy Aquino did away with that policy, his labor chief Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz reiterated that stand a few days ago when she stated that ‘holiday economics’ is bad for the economy.

Thru Proclamation No. 95, only 18 holidays have been declared, 12 of them are regular holidays and six are special nonworking days.
