The Azkals have been asked to change its name by no less than former First Lady Ming Ramos amid a sexual harrassment controversy involving two members of the team and her daughter.
Ramos told Manila Bulletin that the Azkals “acted like stray dogs,” which the team’s monicker pertains, and “displayed lack of respect” when Cristina Ramos, a Match Commissioner of the Asian Football Confederation, checked on their credentials before their match against the Malaysian Tigers on February 29.
Mrs. Ramos reportedly said she fully supports her daughter in filing the sexual harassment complaint against Azkals Lexton Moy and Angel Guirado.
The 11th first lady of the republic added that the team should have behaved instead of laughing in the course of the incident. Ramos said the Azkals should change their attitude and just “start winning games.”
