The Light Rail Transit (LRT) Authority announced its operating schedules in observance of the upcoming Holy Week 2012. According to Radyo5 News FM, LRT 1 and LRT 2 will be closed from 8:00 p.m. of Holy Wednesday, April 4, 2012 until April 8, 2012, Easter Sunday to give way for the annual maintenance work.
The FM radio station announced that the two train systems will resume normal operations on April 9, Monday at 5:00 a.m.
Engr. Emerson L. Benitez, LRTA Officer-In-Charge said the maintenance work "will involve the cleaning and checking of all LRT facilities, systems and equipment, and replacement of catenary wires and rail ballasts along critical segments."
Line 1 runs from Baclaran station in Pasay City to Roosevelt station in Muñoz while Line 2 stretches from Recto in Manila to Santolan in Pasig City.
