Slater Young, the Hotshot Engineer of Cebu, was declared Big Winner of Pinoy Big Brother Unlimited at the Quirino Grandstand on Saturday, March 31, 2012, besting 30,789 aspirants, among them the other 36 official housemates, for Season 4.

Pamu Pamorada of Lipa, Batangas was named 2nd Big Placer, Joseph Biggel of Marinduque the 3rd Big Placer, and Paco Evangelista of General Santos City as 4th Big Placer.
The 27-year-old Cebuano bagged a lucrative prize package that includes Two Million Pesos (P2M), a Sony Internet TV, a Crystal Clear Negosyo Franchise, and a 3-Asian-Cities Package Tour for two.
Garnering 40.02% of the total number of text votes, Slater became the first male housemate to win the title in the regular edition of the reality show. In 2005, the big winner was Nene Tamayo, in 2007 it was Beatriz Saw, and in 2010 it was Melai Cantiveros.
After the announcement, viewers immediately used Twitter to greet the Cebuano heartthrob thereby making the term “Congrats Slater” the social networking site’s number 1 trending topic worldwide.
