The 65th annual Cannes Film Festival is happening on May 16 to May 27, 2012. The American film Moonrise Kingdom by director Wes Anderson is set to open the festival while Thérèse Desqueyroux of the late Claude Miller will finally conclude the event.
Legendary actress Marilyn Monroe is featured in the official poster of the 2012 Cannes Film Festival in celebration of her 50th death anniversary.
At the end of the festival, winners of Palme D'Or, Un Certain Regard and other major and special awards will be announced by the help of this year's juries namely, Italian filmmaker, Nanni Moretti (President) together with Hiam Abbass, Palestinian actress and director; Andrea Arnold, English filmmaker; Emmanuelle Devos, French actress; Jean Paul Gaultier, French fashion designer; Diane Kruger, German actress; Ewan McGregor, Scottish actor; Alexander Payne, American filmmaker and Raoul Peck, Haitian filmmaker. British actor Tim Roth will serve as the Jury President under Un Certain Regard category.
