The much-awaited horror movie, The Conjuring, opens in
Philippine cinemas today, August 21. And while Tropical Storm ‘Maring’
is still bringing rains (although not particularly hard like the past 3
days), moviegoers like the blogger are ready to watch the James
Wan-helmed movie on its first day, especially because its a holiday.
But
before you go out to watch and get scared, take time to laugh at this
photo that’s getting viral on social media. Titled “The ConjuRAIN,” it
puts together the much-dreaded flood and the much-anticipated The Conjuring together in one poster!

Couldn’t
resist laughing out loud at this one. It just shows how Pinoys can turn
even the most difficult times into something humorous.
Meanwhile, The Conjuring
is based on the case files of paranormal experts/demonologists, the
husband-and-wife tandem of Ed and Lorraine Warren. Said to be the most
haunting of their experiences, the story is about the demons that lived
in that house in Harrisville, Rhode Island.
The movie has gotten
some good reviews, as it was released earlier in the U.S. and Canada
last July 19, and in the UK and India last August 2.
As of August 17, it has grossed US$170 million worldwide, and, of course, that doesn’t include the Philippine gross yet.
For
those going out to watch, don’t forget to bring umbrellas and jackets.
It will be especially cold inside the cinemas, and it could be not just
because of the rain. Some spirits might want to watch as well to see how
they were portrayed.
