Mick Pennisi's Trending Flop Makes Him ‘Best Actor’

Mick Pennisi, who plays center for Barako Bulls, used his head for his team to win against Petron Blaze Boosters at the PBA on Wednesday. His flop is trending and it seems everyone agrees that he could become a great actor.

Earlier, the Filipino-Australian bastketballer joked, “I think I’m going into acting after my PBA career is over.”

Hosts of a Philippine Basketball Association (PBA)-produced sports show has created a term for his epic flop. They now call it “Pennisi-ing.”

In a segment titled “Basketball Science,” Pennisi even explained the incident (er, his acting).

Pennisi admitted that he was embarrased for his action, but is apparently taking everything lightly and enjoys the popularity he has now.

He even said he’s happy the so-called ‘delayed reaction’ made people laugh.

“I was embarrassed, but when you look at it, you just gotta laugh,” he said. “As long as what happened makes people laugh, then I’m happy.”

Mick Pennisi epic flop on PBA goes viral

Barako Bull’s Mick Pennisi’s funny flop during their game versus the Petron Blaze Boosters on Wednesday night has gone viral on video sharing site, YouTube, and was much-talked about in social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook.

The video showed Pennisi comically dropping to the floor after Petron import Will McDonald threw the ball on his head out of frustration, but it took him about a 3-second lag to react.
Pennisi’s moment has reached international sports news sites and blogs. Eye on Basketball of CBS Sports, called it “arguably the greatest flop in basketball history. The ball-to-head slam is great, the delayed reaction is priceless and Pennisi’s sheer audacity sends the hilarity to the moon,” the blog added.

Despite his epic flop, he scored 11 points in the game making him the eighth player in PBA history to make 700 three-pointers in his career. His team won the game with 94-80.
