The Philippine Azkals defeated Tajikistan 2-1 during their match in the 2012 AFC Challenge Cup at the Halchowk Stadium in Kathmandu, Nepal on Tuesday, March 13.
Despite the controversial goal by the Tajiks before halftime, the Filipinos were able to bounce back, hang on to dear life and came out victorious.
Phil Younghusband made the first goal for the Philippines early in the second half, while Angel Guirado added one more at the 80th minute.
With the come-from-behind victory, Philippines will advance to the semifinals round. The Azkals will meet Group B top seed Turkmenistan on Friday, March 16.
