Transport groups have set a nationwide transport
strike on Thursday, March 15, 2012, reportedly to protest the rising
cost of petroleum products. Some schools and universities already
announced suspension of classes.
The Department of Education announced that discretion to suspend classes is with the respective local government units.
“As per agreement in the TRASMA meeting, LGUs shall take the lead in suspending classes tomorrow should there be a need to do so,” the education department in its Twitter account (@DepEd_PH) posted Wednesday.
