President Benigno Aquino III will deliver his State of the Nation Address (SONA) during the joint session of the 15th Congress on July 23, 2012 at the House of Representatives in Quezon City.
In his 3rd SONA, Aquino is expected to brag about various accomplishments and programs of his administration among which the new K+12education curriculum, the amended laws RA 10167 and RA 10168 enhancing transparency and accountability in government, and improvements in disaster preparedness and management.
The president may also mention historic events in his term such as the impeachment of Chief Justice Renato Corona and the continued detention of his political nemesis, ex-president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, who is facing electoral sabotage charges.
It is also possible that Aquino will present in his SONA the government’s new policies on mining and illegal logging as well as announce the name of the next Chief Justice.
