Senate Majority Leader Tito Sotto III delivered a very emotional speech against Reproductive Health (RH) Bill before the Senate on Monday.
The teary-eyed senator said his battle against the bill is personal,
blaming contraceptives for the death of his son, Vincent Paul, 5 months
after he was born in 1975. He narrated that his wife used contraceptives
but became pregnant, and it resulted to a weak child.
“He was born but he never left the hospital. The Makati Medical
Center said he died because my wife used contraceptives. Even her doctor
admits to the fact, Dra. Enderga Santos…,” he added.
Sotto was strong on his stand that contraceptives are abortifacients, and RH Bill is “not necessary, not beneficial, not practical for our people & should be rejected.”
