"This is going to be my first time, so I'm really, really excited to start taping." Derek said during the pictorial for his upcoming movie "A Secret Affair" opposite Anne Curtis and Andi Eigenmann.

"I don’t usually work with pressure, but there is a little bit of pressure here knowing this is a first. But I don’t like to get the pressure involved with my work." the Kapatid actor-host further said. 

Derek will be joined by two of TV5's hottest properties Ritz Azul and Nadine Samonte whom she described as "They are two beautiful women and I can’t wait to start working with them. Pabata nang pabata ang leading lady ko, nakakabaliw!” 

Aside from Kidlat, Derek will soon be seen in TV5 reality show "Amazing Race Philippines."

60th FAMAS Awards 2012 Winners List

Winners have been announced Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at the Manila Hotel.

Anne Curtis won as FAMAS Best Actress for the movie "No Other Woman". She won over Angel Locsin, Marian Rivera, Carla Abellana, Cristine Reyes, Rhian Ramos, Pokwang and Kris Aquino.

Gov. ER Ejercito aka Jeorge Estregan meanwhile took home this year's FAMAS Best Actor trophy for "Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story", beating Aga Muhlach, Noni Buencamino, Derek Ramsay, Dingdong Dantes, TJ Trinidad and Sen. Ramon "Bong" Revilla.

Named Best Supporting Actress was Angelica Panganiban for "Segunda Mano". Other nominees in this category included Carmina Villarroel, Iza Calzado, Daria Ramirez, Valerie Concepcion and Carmi Martin.

Baron Geisler was Best Supporting Actor for the film "Asiong Salonga" while Xyriel Manabat won for the 2nd consecutive year as Best Child Actress, this time for "A Mother's Story".

Beauty and Elements Ventures Inc. formally introduced its newest product, Lolita with its brand ambassador Myrtle Sarrosa, last September 22, 2012 at the 55 Events Place Tomas Morato Quezon City.

Kris Aquino Backs Out of 'Sisteraka' (Filmfest Entry with Vice Ganda)

Queen of All Media Kris Aquino has backed out in doing the movie Sisteraka with Vice Ganda. The said movie is one of Star Cinema's official entry to the 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival. Sisteraka will also star two of the hottest teens today, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla.

This week, a rumor spread like wildfire saying that Kris Aquino will not be part of Sisteraka anymore and on September 23, Kris confirmed the rumors via Twitter. In a series of tweets, Kris cleared the reason why she's begging out of the movie.

I didn't want to talk about work this weekend. But YES it's true I backed out of the MMFF movie w/ Vice Ganda. If u remember I lost my voice the other week & I realized I can't possibly work 7 days a wk & not have all my projects suffer. In the past my talk show was always the 1 that suffered because of my "acting" dreams. More than anything else, I am a talkshow host & I can't be effective w/ no voice. Our teleserye Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw has a story so close to my heart, about a family, about sisters, & what toll cancer takes not just for the victim but for all those she loves. I made difficult choices but I have peace in my heart. Growing up means accepting I'm not superwoman, and realizing just how blessed I am to have what's here & now.

According to reports, comedy queen Ai Ai Delas Alas will replace Kris in Sisteraka. It can be recalled that Ai Ai said earlier that she will not be joining this year's film fest out of respect for Bossing Vic whom she had worked with in the past MMFF top grosser Enteng Ng Ina Mo. However, things might be different now as she was offered to do the role and according to her 'masama raw tumanggi sa grasya.'

One good thing is that Ai Ai and co-star Vice Ganda (who reportedly had a rift in the past) had already patch things up so their working relationship in the movie will be smooth now.

Typhoon Lawin September 23, 2012 Update

In the latest tropical cyclone update of PAGASA issued at 11:00 a.m., Sunday, 23 September 2012, "LAWIN" has intensified into a typhoon and moved closer to Samar provinces.

At 10:00 a.m. today, 23 September 2012, the center of Typhoon "LAWIN" was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 330 km East of Borongan, Eastern Samar (12.0°N,128.8°E) with maximum sustained winds of 120 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 150 kph.

Bagyong LAWIN is forecest to move Northwest at 7kph.

Public storm warning signal signal number 1 (30-60 kph winds) was raised in Samar provinces.

Residents living in low lying and mountainous areas under public storm warning signal #1 are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides.

Estimated rainfall amount is from 10 - 20 mm per hour (heavy - intense) within the 600 km diameter of the Typhoon.

Southwest Monsoon enhanced by the Typhoon will bring light to moderate rains in Western Visayas and Mindanao.

Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the eastern seaboard of Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao due to big waves generated by Typhoon "LAWIN".

Guinness World Records officially proclaimed on September 20, 2012 that Gangnam Style by PSY is the Most Liked Youtube video in history.

According to its Youtube music video, ‘Gangnam Style’ is composed solely by PSY himself from lyrics to choreography and is the carrier single of his sixth album simply named as PSY6. Withs strong addictive beats and simple dance steps that captured the attention of many, Gangnam Style has recorded 2,277,478 likes with only 99,162 dislikes as of this writing.

LMFAO’s ‘Party Rock Anthem’ (1,574,963 likes), Justin’s Bieber’s ‘Baby’ (1,327,147 likes) and Adele’s ‘Rolling in the Deep’ (1,245,641 likes) trails Gangnam Style in the most liked video category.

Paris Hilton on gay guys “Ewwww…gay guys are the horniest people in the world. Most of them probably have AIDS”!

Paris Hilton was having a conversation with a gay friend who was talking about Grindr ( a popular pickup app for gay men ) and the conversation goes like this.
Paris’ friend says:

“Say I log into Grindr, someone that’s on Grindr can be in that building and it tells you all the locations of where they are and you can be like, ‘Yo, you wanna f–k?’ and he might be on like, the sixth floor.”

Paris said:

“Gay guys are the horniest people in the world… They’re disgusting. Dude, most of them probably have AIDS. I would be so scared if I were a gay guy… You’ll like, die of AIDS.”

On other side, Hilton’s publicist said:

“Paris Hilton is a huge supporter of the gay community and would never purposefully make any negative statements about anyone’s sexual orientation.”

Hilton’s rep said that the exchange only gave the first half of the conversation.

“The conversation became heated, after a close gay friend told her in a cab ride, a story about a gay man who has AIDS and is knowingly having unprotected sex … He also discussed a website that encourages random sex by gay men with strangers. As she was being shown the website, her comments were in reference to those people promoting themselves on the site.”
“Paris Hilton’s comments were to express that it is dangerous for anyone to have unprotected sex that could lead to a life threatening disease.”

The incident happened while Paris and her friend are riding NYC taxi, while the cab driver secretly recorded the audio while Paris was having a conversation with a gay friend.

Julie Anne San Jose has caught the attention of netizens when a video that shows her in the audience of The Ellen DeGeneres Show was uploaded on the video sharing website YouTube.

The host Ellen DeGeneres was going around the audience area, dancing while Tupac’s California Love was being played.

At one point, she stopped beside Julie Anne and did the Gangnam Style steps. The Filipina singer/actress, on the other hand, did the “dougie” and Ellen was obviously impressed as she pointed to Julie Anne before going back to the stage.

Julie Anne had the aisle seat. As the camera shifted, Elmo Magalona was seen beside her and his mom Pia was on his other side.

“Some good dancers out there,” the host afterwards commented.

Julie Anne trended on Twitter because of that. She was referred to by those who doesn’t know her as the “Asian Chick.” Her “dougie” moves sure got the a lot of attention. But I wonder, was it planted? We know how meticulous they are out there that even those they ask in the audience are rehearsed.

Jessica Sanchez in Eat Bulaga

American Idol runner-up and Fil-Mexican singing sensation Jessica Sanchez guested at Eat Bulaga! on September 20, 2012 to promote her concert with other Idol 2012 finalists.

It was Jessica’s first visit in the Philippines and of course her first live TV appearance in the country. She was supposed to guest on the longest running noontime show with American Idol 2012 winner Phil Phillips, but the latter did not make because he was not feeling well.

“It’s been amazing! Like I said, meeting all the fans is the best part. And meeting all of you guys,” said Jessica, when asked about her trip to the country…Nothing is confirmed yet but I would love to come back and sing for all of you again.”

Jessica then sang for her Pinoy fans and did a short duet of And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going with Allan K.

The one-night concert in the Philippines, scheduled on September 21 in Smart Araneta Coliseum, is part of American Idol Live! Tour 2012 which brings together the finalists of the popular American singing contest.

Aside from Eat Bulaga!, Jessica Sanchez will also guest at Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho on Saturday.

The court has ordered the magazine to hand over all photos in its possession to any representative of the Royal Couple  within 24 hours  or face punitive fines of 10,000 euros ($13,000) for every day’s delay.

The criminal proceedings has been initiated by the royal couple against Closer editor and its photographers over the topless photos of Kate Middleton. 
The pictures  spread on the internet and have  been in  Ireland’s Daily Star newspaper and Italy’s Chi magazine.

Police raided the office of Closer Magazine in search of the identy of the photographer who took the topless pictures of  the Duchess of Cambridge.

The officers arrived at the magazine’s headquarters at 10 AM Paris time and searched the publication’s offices and examined journalists’ computers.

Here is the statement of Paul Keenan, Chief Executive of Bauer Media in connection with the controversial photos of  Kate Middleton.

As the owners of the Closer brand and publishers of Closer magazine we have complained in the strongest terms to the licensee of Closer France, over the publication by them of photographs of their Royal Highnesses, Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge.

We deplore the publication of these intrusive and offensive pictures and have asked that Closer France takes these pictures down immediately from its website and desist from publishing any further pictures.

Bauer Media and Closer UK regards publication of these photographs as a gross intrusion of their Royal Highnesses’ privacy.

We were not aware in advance of the purchase of these photographs or of any intention to publish. We have absolutely no control over the editorial decisions of Closer France.
In the light of their publication, we are now urgently discussing this matter with our licensee and reviewing the terms of our licence agreement with Closer France.

Like our readers we are appalled and regret the pain the publication of these photographs has caused.

The publication of pictures of Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge topless has understandably caused outrage around the world. As a magazine, we feel these pictures are intrusive and an invasion of the Duchess’ privacy and are appalled that they were published. ABS-CBN has released the official poster for Ina Kapatid Anak which stars Kim Chiu, Maja Salvador, Xian Lim and Enchong Dee.

Ina Kapatid Anak is a story about family, love, power, rivalry and acceptance.

This is Kim’s comeback on primetime, and the comeback of the Kim-Xian love team that started in My Binondo Girl.

Directed by Don Cuaresma and Jojo Saguin, the series is set to air in October. It also stars seasoned actors Janice de Belen, Cherry Pie Picache and Ariel Rivera, with veteran actors Ronaldo Valdez, Pilar Pilapil and Eddie Gutierrez.

Anne Curtis and Shamcey Supsup in Avon Lipstick
