As of 4:00 a.m. Friday, June 15, Tropical Storm Butchoy was spotted at 620 km East of Guiuan, Eastern Samar with maximum sustained winds of 100 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness up to 130 kph. It is moving West Northwest at 15 kph.
Estimated rainfall amount is from 15 - 25 mm per hour (heavy) within the 300 km diameter of the Tropical Storm, the bureau said.
PAGASA advises fishing boats and other small seacrafts not to venture out into the seaboards of Luzon, Visayas and Northeastern Mindanao due to big waves generated by the effect of the Southwest Monsoon and TS Butchoy.
