American Idol runner-up and Fil-Mexican singing sensation Jessica Sanchez guested at Eat Bulaga! on September 20, 2012 to promote her concert with other Idol 2012 finalists.

It was Jessica’s first visit in the Philippines and of course her first live TV appearance in the country. She was supposed to guest on the longest running noontime show with American Idol 2012 winner Phil Phillips, but the latter did not make because he was not feeling well.

“It’s been amazing! Like I said, meeting all the fans is the best part. And meeting all of you guys,” said Jessica, when asked about her trip to the country…Nothing is confirmed yet but I would love to come back and sing for all of you again.”

Jessica then sang for her Pinoy fans and did a short duet of And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going with Allan K.

The one-night concert in the Philippines, scheduled on September 21 in Smart Araneta Coliseum, is part of American Idol Live! Tour 2012 which brings together the finalists of the popular American singing contest.

Aside from Eat Bulaga!, Jessica Sanchez will also guest at Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho on Saturday.

Jessica Sanchez will be coming to Manila in September. And yes, she officially signed as the newest Bench model/endorser as revealed by famous clothing brand's main man Ben Chan.

The contract, according to Chan, was recently signed when he met with the American Idol runner-up in the US.

The Jessica Bench billboards will be installed around the metropolis either late this month and early next month in time for Jessica’s visit to the Philippines after her amazing finish in the recent American Idol competition won by Phillip Phillips. Jessica and company will be performing at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in a concert produced by Renen de Guia’s Ovation Productions.

Jessica Sanchez Solo Concert in the Philippines Not True Says Promoter

Early reports claiming that American Idol 2012 runner-up Jessica Sanchez will be having a solo concert tour  in the Philippines in October was refuted by the 16-year-old singer’s promoter. 

The Philippine Daily Inquirer reported on Tuesday that Jessica's 5-city concert tour in the Philippines was already in the bag but in a story published on the newspaper's website on Thursday, the Inquirer said Renen de Guia, head of the Ovation Productions, had sent them an e-mail denying Sanchez’s supposed series of solo shows. 

Quoting the exact e-mail from de Guia to Inquirer’s reporter, he said: 

“There is no truth to the news item you put out the other day (June 19) in the Inquirer on Jessica Sanchez’ performing in 5 cities in the Philippines after American Idol. Jessica’s management company 19 Entertainment has tweeted the following: ‘Contrary to many false reports, @JSanchezAI11′s ONLY performance in the Philippines will be 9/21 in Manila as part of the Idol Live Tour.’”

The Inquirer also cited another source who said the person “who gave the go-signal to break the news that Sanchez’s Philippine tour has been confirmed may have acted in haste.”

“It was a premature announcement. There are no confirmed dates yet, although there are indeed negotiations ongoing. The Philippine tour may or may not happen,” the second source told the Inquirer.

Jessica Sanchez will sing US Anthem in NBA Finals

American Idol Season 11 runner-up Jessica Sanchez is set to sing, for the third time, the US national anthem before a big crowd. This time, it will be for NBA finals on Tuesday night (Wednesday morning, Manila time).

The Mexican-Filipina singer will sing The Star-Spangled Banner before the start of the first game of Oklahoma City Thunder versus Miami Heat in the NBA finals. This will definitely be in front of a big crowd as thousands of NBA supporters and enthusiasts will come to witness the game. The game will even be televised on various TV channels around the globe.

On her official Twitter account, Sanchez confirmed the news herself when she was asked by one of her followers on what to expect from her in the coming days. Sanchez replied: “Well NBA tomorrow, #idoltour, and working on upcoming album .”

This will actually be Sanchez’s third time singing the US national anthem, following the PBS Memorial Day concert in Washington D.C. last May 28 and the controversial Pacquiao vs Bradley boxing match last June 9 (June 10, Manila time).

Sanchez said that she also hopes to sing our own national anthem, Lupang Hinirang, before a big crowd soon. Hearing this from her delighted her Filipino fans and kababayans.

The much-anticipated visit of American Idol runner-up Jessica Sanchez to the Philippines is already set, this is according to Ovation Productions, which will produce the show.

Sanchez will be part of the American Idol LIVE! Tour to be staged on September 21 at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.  She will be with other Season 11 finalists, however, it is uncertain if Idol winner Phillip Phillips could come with the tour while he is still recovering from a kidney surgery.  Recovery was said to take long for six months, according to TMZ.com.

Ovation Productions also produced the American Idol Season 10 LIVE tour in Manila last 2011 which also featured Fil-Am finalist Thia Megia.

The And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going duet of Jennifer Holliday and Filipino-Mexican Jessica Sanchez during the American Idol 11 finale results show was hailed as the best performance on the AI stage ever.

That said, the parodies made about it that have been uploaded on YouTube are not surprising at all.

Even local comedians Michael V and Ogie Alcasid did their own version of the duet in their Sunday show Pare & Pare. Pooh and Melai Cantiveros also did it in Banana Split.

Jessica Sanchez told the Rolling Stone she’s not a pop singer

Filipino-Mexican Jessica Sanchez recently visited the RollingStone studio to talk about what people should expect to hear in her future albums.

She said that what people saw in American Idol was different from what she wants to be as an artist. “I’m not a pop singer at all and I think that’s why people got confused when I sang my single because it was like a straight pop single,” she told RollingStone, and added a promise that she’s “ready to show everybody that’s not who I am.”

She also talked about being so thrilled when she ended up being on Beyonce’s website after singing Sweet Dreams in AI. “I freaked out about that cause she’s like one of my biggest idols.”

The 16-year-old singer also revealed her Eminem fandom. “I love Eminem. It’s like Justin Bieber to all those little girls. It’s like crazy how much I love him like I would cry if he walked into this room right now.”

Jessica Sanchez to sing U.S. National Anthem in Pacquiao-Bradley fight

Good news to Pinoy boxing fans and Jessica Sanchez’s fans as well, the 16-year-old American Idol 11 runner-up will be singing the U.S. National Anthem before the June 9 fight of Manny Pacquiao with Timothy Bradley!

Although Pinoy fans of the boxing champ were clamoring for Jessica to sing the Philippine National Anthem, Pacquiao has already picked Fil-Am Kirby Asunto to sing Lupang Hinirang even before Jessica became a sensation. So I guess that left them with no other choice than to make Jessica sing the Star-Spangled Banner if they wanted the powerhouse to perform before the fight.

Besides, does Jessica know how to sing Lupang Hinirang, and if she does, in a version that wouldn’t be bashed by the National Historical Institute`? I’m not saying she should be blamed if she didn’t know our Anthem, though. She hasn’t even been this part of the earth, anyway.

Jessica has most recently sung Star-Spangled Banner in public last May 26, just a few days after the AI finale, at the 2012 PBS National Memorial Day Concert. Before AI, however, she also sang the Anthem before a Charger vs. Jets game in 2008 and before the Chargers vs. Cardinals game in 2010.
